Hope Centre Breakfast
A project has been ongoing since 2011 of providing a breakfast on the first Saturday of every month for clients of the Hope Centre in the town. This includes a short reflection and much chat, through which important connections are made.
Fit for Life
During the summer “Fit for Life” evenings are organised. A walk, chat, reflection and then a healthy snack is the general running order of each evening.
The Ballymena food bank is operational and we are one of the signed up sponsoring churches. Some of our members are trained volunteers and also act as a collection point. The bank provides basic emergency supplies to those who are most in need.
Student Lunches Programme
Every Thursday lunchtime the Parish Halls there is a lunch for students from the nearby Northern Regional College (formerly Ballymena Tech). Some students stay on to use the facilities as a common room. Some students choose to give a small donation, and all money raised goes towards a charity at the end of the academic year.
As a parish we endeavour to make our hall available to host charity events or to allow support agencies to run programmes. Thus during the summer 2014 Good Morning Ballymena ran a course in our halls. The Blood Transfusion Service also appreciate the use of our halls several times a year.
